Literary Cat Fun
When I went to a writer's conference in Tucson, I heard Billy Collins, former Poet Laureate, read some of his poetry. He said one thing that I really agreed with: "Poets write because they're jealous of other poets." They start creating their own poems because they think they can do better.
Then he said something I entirely disagreed with. He claimed that cats were for prose, but dogs were for poetry. I couldn't accept such a statement, but I rushed home, and Bandit's voice was born. For the next months I wrote poems I channeled from Bandit, Cosmo, Phantom, Ping, and Mei Mei. I collected their thoughts in this collection.
