Since I'm a whole quarter Italian, I've always been fascinated with Italy and her language. As a child I remember when my great-aunts came to visit; they always made a lot of noise and laughed all evening long. When I was thirteen I got to travel to Italy with my grandpa, great-aunt, and a bus-load of other relatives. One of our main destinations: the small town of Vistrorio, where we met up with the Italian side of the family.

When I was in college, I spent a semester studying in Florence. Since then I've gone back to Italy as often as possible.

Italy is especially fun when it comes time for carnival!

I've had the chance to go to carnival in both Ivrea and Venezia, and both are terrific!

For beautiful costumes, see the Venice carnival pages.
