Most trips to China start or end in Beijing. That's where we started off, in a huge sprawling city where bike lines are giving over to cars but subways move lots of people in lots of directions.

Over the next month we had the chance to climb along The Great Wall, visit terracotta soldiers, and visit temple after temple.

After the end of the tour, Lucy and I spent extra time in Hong Kong where it was easy to get around thanks to years of colonization and hence lots of signs in English.
