After playing in a mariachi for more than a decade, I got a little tired of listening to songs that talk about how women have ruined men's lives. After all, we all know how men exaggerate! My songs explore the humorous side of relationships. Strangely enough, in my music, the women usually come out ahead! Songs don't translate particularly well because they're usually rich in idiomatic language. To give you an idea, however, "Mi novio Jose" is about a woman stuck at a disco. To get rid of a dance partner who's too clingy, she makes up a boyfriend! Tengo mucho tiempo con el mariachi. A pesar de la belleza de nuestras canciones, tengo una queja. Muchas hablan de las malditas mujeres que hacen sufrir a sus parejas. Pensandolo bien... Se me hace que es al reves! Por eso he creado esas canciones. Espero que le gusten.
