I grew up in Springfield, Illinois, but for the last twenty years I've been hanging out in Tucson, Arizona, where it's a lot warmer, and I can swim outdoors (in a heated pool) every day of the year.

By day I'm an instructor at the University of Arizona. By evening I'm a musician. By night I'm a writer. When the rest of the world goes to bed, I start typing. Unfortunately I'm a "Peter Elbow Writer," meaning that I start by writing all the wrong words in all the wrong sentences.
